Usermin Reply Window is very small, can it use

SYSTEM INFORMATION
OS type and version EL9

Usermin version 2.400

The reply window is quite short, can it be made to adjust to fit page?

Looks ok to me

This is replying to a plain text email so that you can see it, note that the bottom half of the screen is available but unused, meanwhile the small text window has vertical scroll bar (too skinny, only about 2mm or less, another problem for another day).

So little showing that I have to scroll up/down just to check what I am replying too when there is all that free space below.

For context, I use a 27" monitor split vertically in half.

Nobody cares?

if you want to do it go to theme configuration, and click theme extensions

this will load the theme css
then add the following

.ql-editor{
min-height:50vh;
}

you may want to alter the value of 50vh to suit your own needs but it’s about right

You could try dragging the little triangle in the bottom-right corner to expand the window.

Not true, sometimes a valid thread just gets missed because the right person has not seen it before it gets pushed down then thread list.

I struggle to see what’s not there.

Thanks for the tip. Being out of my depth, I have wasted an hour and can’t find to edit it, and any changes I make will be overwritten with a theme update, so yeah..

I will just try to not be annoyed by this feature.

no it does not overwrite on update, The idea behind theme extensions is that you can make permanent changes.
so to edit it navigate to <you-domain.tld:10000>/tconfig.cgi?xnavigation=1
you will see

click the arrowed button
then you will see

note the top arrow is showing that you are editing the custom css rules but equally you can edit other parts like jquery & language variables by altering the chosen file in the drop down, but in this case styles.ccs is the file you want then just add the css rule that I have arrowed

Yes, I care! I will look into fixing it for the next Webmin and Usermin release.

Sorry I missed your original report.

What frustrates me, is that I can’t find what you showed me, a menu way to get to the editor.
Even on Search, I type Theme and various come up, but clicking any of them does absolutely nothing - is Search broken too?

it’s accessed via the left menu or the right slider as indicated via the arrows

It is in Webmin, logged in as root.

Aha!

It’s not available via any menu! No wonder I was wasting my time.

Is that really good design though?

I will wait until it gets fixed.

You cannot see the 2 indicated icons ? If you ca not you don’t appear to be logged in as a root capable user

I found it thanks for your help. Personally I think it should be findable from the left menu, not just an icon.

I have been using Vmin for a couple of years now and I couldn’t find it, what hope would a newbie have?

Even Ilia’s answer is no help unless you know to start with an icon.

When the authentic theme was introduced, I clicked every button I could find to see what it did, most software, when you press a button leads to a different option within the software (unless it’s marked delete/erase), in this case a simple hover over the icon reveals what it does. But you are right it’s not super obvious, maybe on the left menu the pallett icon indicates something to do with style though

The “Theme Configuration” button is available in the menu, and those extension editor buttons are the first thing you see on the opened “Theme Configuration” page. Adding these directly to the menu would clutter the UI for a niche feature.
