SASL authentication failure: No such file or directory

SYSTEM INFORMATION
OS type and version Ubuntu 22.04
Virtualmin version 7.1-1

Hey,
I’ve run into a problem with a new installed server. I used the virtualmin beta installer for this and all went pretty fine. My problem is, that I can’t send mails. Receiving on the other hand works fine.
The only (repeating) error in the mail.log is following:

postfix/smtpd[137043]: warning: SASL authentication failure: cannot connect to saslauthd server: No such file or directory
postfix/smtpd[137043]: warning: unknown[123.345.567.789]: SASL LOGIN authentication failed: generic failure

I already tried restarting postfix / saslauthd, even restarted the whole server. But that didn’t help.
What did I miss and where?

Thx for your help!

Sounds like the same as this: Cannot login email in outlook - #35 by HansM
