Letsencrypt default values in Vhost (ssl.cert vs ssl.combined )

regarding to this un-answered closed Post, I have the same question:

Nginx - set default ssl_certificate to ssl.combined

Ubuntu 20.04 LEMP + Virtualmin 6.14 / Webmin 1.970 (installed with sh /root/virtualmin-install.sh -b LEMP -m) Is there a way to set the default ssl_certificate to ssl.combined instead of ssl.cert? I am talking about the /etc/nginx/sites-available/example.com.conf file. Why? Because Qualys test (ssllabs.com) don’t rate A+ with the ‘incomplete’ cert file. The cert need to have the Cert + CA. And this file is the ssl.combined. Thanks in advance.

I’ve created a new vhost, and in the NGINX-Host-File I got this for the ssl-certificate configuration:

ssl_certificate /etc/letsencrypt/live/bimbom.com/ssl.crt

But this cause a broken SSL-Check.

After changing it to :

ssl_certificate /etc/letsencrypt/live/bimbom.com/ssl.combined

the SSL-Check passed sucessfully.

On the same server I have vhost that I’ve setup earlier (1 year ago).
I never touched the ssl-config on those, but there is ssl.combined set in the ssl-config.

So I wonder if this changed in the meantime, and how to switch it back, that on VHOST-Creation the right “combined”-Certificate is used in the nginx-vhost-file.
