it has been a while but this popped up today:

I think it maybe connected to the last issue Spinning Doom

Hello,

Thanks for the heads up!

Could you explain more about what’s going on? How can I reproduce this issue?

Not quite sure:
it followed:

  1. Log on to VM as usual domain.tld:1000
  2. go to Virtualmin > dashboard (Alt + i)
  3. the VS is the “default”
  4. go to Virtualmin > File Manager
get the spinning doom and the error as above on the console (F12) Chrome browser

I have tried to reproduce but not am logged out of the said VS!
1 refusing root password!
2 so I log in as another domain (it is on same IP)
3 edit the bad VS - change the password - this seems to be ok
4 go back to try to log in again to original VS

but now get (in red)

Error — Access denied for ...

the ip is correct (if I go to see any of the domains on the VM they all seem to show what I would expect - so nginx working)
however all VS seem to have lost their SSL!

systemctl restart webmin
systemctl restart systemd-timesyncd

Thanks, that probably would have worked just as well, but I resorted to rebooting the VM - it is a production box and the short downtime is more livable than the trouble.
it would have been nice to have known the cause.
I hate any error that doesn’t seem to be reproducible or have a clear cause + solution.
