You got some weird errors there, you did install onto a clean server. Not installing anything yourself?
errors like warning: connect to /var/spool/postfix/postgrey/socket: No such file or directory
and warning: connect to Milter service inet:localhost:8891: Connection timed out
look like services not properly installed.
This is a clean server. my old ubuntu 22.04 server was hacked by cryptomining malware. so I decided to use rhel9. I restored my rhel9 server with ubuntu server backup. Everything is working fine except mails.
I suppose you didn’t check if mail was working before doing the restore.
I’m not use to RHEL9. I would of used Rocky 8 or 9 as it been used alot with VM.
Joe would have more ideas them on your issues.
Please share this file /etc/postfix/main.cf from your server. I want to check with my server config file. I feel there is a problem with my server config file.
This has a useful clue, I think, don’t just blast right past it as thought it isn’t useful information. Errors from the log is how we troubleshoot this stuff. We can’t do anything with client errors. “Unknown mail transport error” is not useful information for troubleshooting. The client does not know what went wrong and the mail server generally won’t tell it.
Looks like you’ve got postgrey enabled, but it’s not running/available. You may wish to turn this off (greylisting is the feature that uses the postgrey milter) for testing, and then turn it back on once you’ve seen mail working without it.
I don’t think that would be the issue. Like Joe said said like you had different services enabled or not enabled in your VM compare to your original VM.
Thanks for telling me about this. This helps me to remember. I was enabled postgrey, dkim, and others too

You are right. Postgrey was enabled by me on the ubuntu server. Now I disable all (postgrey, dkim and all). Now I can receive emails but can’t send emails. I will share the updated logs file again.

You still have a milter configured that isn’t responding. Looks like it continues to be postgrey.
It looks like you named your system the same name as one you are hosting mail for in Virtualmin (docs say not to do that, for this reason).
I’d recommend you rename your system to something that is not a domain you host mail for. i.e. rename it to srv1.projectok.com or whatever. Literally anything other than projectok.com is fine, as long as it resolves and is fully qualified.
