What version of CentOS am I running?

The dashboard for Vrtualmin indicates that I am running CentOS Linus 6.4; however, when I run ‘cat /etc/redhat-release’, it reports CentOS release 6.5 (Final).

Just curious why I am getting two different answers…

Howdy,

If /etc/issue says “CentOS 6.5”, that’s your distribution version. It may just be that Webmin hasn’t noticed the upgraded distribution yet.

This occurred for me too after I updated from CentOS 6.4 to 6.5. After a few days a large yellow banner appeared across the server info page informing me of the difference between system info (saying 6.4) and the OS (6.5). Clicking ‘Okay’ cleared the banner and updated the info.

Hi,

After doing an upgrade, you may A) need to reboot your system for the changes to take effect system wide, and/or B) click the “Refresh system information” link in the upper right corner of Virtualmin.

Hopefully this helps!
