I’m sorry, I just followed the instructions on this page: https://www.virtualmin.com/download/. The installation script went through the phase 1 without error, but phase 2 (Setup) stopped with an error. The last log lines are:

This doesn’t seem to be an error at my end, but who knows? Can I do something about it? The “Required” fields in the table I can’t really fill out, as I do not have any information (yet).
I understand that Virtualmin builds on Webmin. But the installation script requires a clean, fresh install. That’s why I removed the already installed (though not yet setup) web server, the sql server (already setup) and the postfix (not yet setup) package, about which the installer first complained. Do I have to install webmin before installing virtualmin? The above mentioned page doesn’t say anything about it, it rather says that the installation script will take care of everything.
I’m puzzled…
And I apologize if this happened to others and is already solved. In that case, I would be grateful for a pointer. I didn’t find anything, only issues of other kinds regarding AlmaLinux.

There are a few lines in German in the console text. After “Spin ID…”, the next line says:
“Last test for outdated meta data: before 0:58:30 on Wed 16 Sep 2026…
The package dnf-plugins-core-4.7.0-10.el10.noarch is already installed.
Dependencies are resolved.
Nothing to do.
Done!”
And the line after the following line (before the second “Spin pid is:…”):
“Error: the package is not installed”
And again two lines later:
“wget: Host-address “download.virtualmin.com” can not be resolved.”
