I’ve rolled out version 1.795 of Webmin for all repos. This is primarily a release for Ubuntu 16.04 LTS users, as it has a number of fixes for that distro/version. If you’re not running Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, you can take it or leave it (though it should be safe to update, even though it is a “devel” release).
Changes since 1.790:
- Software Package Updates - When updating multiple packages, they are done in a single YUM or APT operation if possible.
- System Logs NG - Added support for the network() source type.
- Fixes for MIME type detection in File Manager (use File::Mimeinfo module)
- Support for extracting .7z, .bz2, .xz, .gz, and .rar, in File Manager
- MySQL 5.7 support fixes
We’re still working on refining Ubuntu 16.04 LTS support, based on user reports of issues, so please keep filing tickets when you find bugs on your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS installations (and also proceed with caution when deploying it for production, though it’s close to production ready with this update). There will be a new Virtualmin release shortly to address some other known issues.
