Webmin Action Log notification emails date formatting

Hello all,

I’ve noticed that the timestamps in some of the Webmin Action Log emails I get are slightly different in some.. but not others. Whilst this is not in the slightest bit critical, it is a bit of a mystery!

For example:

A Webmin Action Log notification for anything that is scripted with miniserv.pl will return with a “normal” date and time formatted in it:

This email was sent by Webmin in response to a user action.

Action performed at: 23/04/25 21:29
Performed on system: system.example.not
Performed by user: user
Client address: myob
Webmin script: miniserv.pl
Session ID: xxxxx

Logged into Webmin

The line “Action performed at:” has a normal UK formatted time and date.

However, Webmin Action Log notification for anything that is scripted with update.cgi will return this:

This email was sent by Webmin in response to a user action.

Webmin module: package-updates
Module title: Software Package Updates
Action performed at: <span data-filesize-bytes='1745438924'>23/04/25 21:08 </span>
Performed on system: system.example.not
Performed by user: user
Client address: myob
Webmin script: update.cgi
Session ID: xxxxx

Refreshed available packages

The line “Action performed at:” has what I could only describe as a bit of css code before the “normal” date. The figure is the timestamp that relates to the date.

Viewing the Action logs in Webmin displays everything “correctly”, including the time parameter in the raw log data field.

I don’t know whether the script used is actually relevant, but it’s the only common denominator I can see between them. It doesn’t seem to matter what the function actually is (saving something, or refreshing something etc.) it’s consistently “normal” (or not) using the same script every time.

So, although this isn’t a high priority (or actually matters at all!), is there anything that can be done to make these emails read like the “normal date” ones?

System Info:
I have two servers, each on different hardware, each one does exactly the same.
Servers: Ubuntu Linux 24.04.2 updated with latest patches. One is Linux 6.8.0-1020-raspi on aarch64, the other is Linux 6.8.0-58-generic on x86_64.
Webmin: 2.303
Virtualmin: 7.30.08

Hope someone can shed some light?

Regards,
Alan.
