Webmin 1.994 released

Howdy all,

I’ve rolled out version 1.994 of Webmin.

Aside from switching Webmin to using native systemd unit configuration file, this is primarily a bugfix and theme update release.

It also addresses CVE-2022-30708 which does not affect Virtualmin/Cloudmin managed users.

/etc/init.d/webmin disappeared. Is this by design?

Yes, as we switched to native systemd service file for Webmin and Usermin. I will update the initial post to mention this.

Note: After upgrading to Webmin 1.994, there are some exceptional cases, when Webmin won’t be able to restart, so you would have to help it by force-restarting it manually, running a new command:

/etc/webmin/restart-by-force-kill

All future upgrades won’t need this anymore.

Is the fix here: Webmin / Bugs / #5552 Fatal error signing DNS zone been incorporated?

Yes, the fix must be included in Webmin 1.994.
