Virtualmin virtual-server module version 4.15 released

Howdy all,

I’ve just rolled out version 4.15 of the Virtualmin virtual-server module for all repos.

Changes since 4.14:

  • Updated the Moodle script installer to version 2.8.3, phpMyAdmin to 4.3.10, Node.js to 0.12.0, phpMyFAQ to 2.8.21, Trac to 1.0.4, ZenPhoto to 1.4.7, Roundcube to 1.1.0, Pydio to 6.0.3, X2CRM to 5.0.4, Z-Push to 2.2.0, extPlorer to 2.1.7, Wordpress to 4.1.1, Piwik to 2.11.1, CMS Made Simple to 1.11.13, Django to 1.7.5, Dokuwiki to 2014-09-29c, Joomla to 3.4.0, ownCloud to 8.0.0, Ghost to 0.5.9, and FengOffice to 3.0.7.
  • Added the Running Backups page for viewing scheduled and manually started backups that are currently executing.
  • The password recovery email address can now be edited for mailbox users via the Edit User page and the modify-user API command. The password reset process can also be triggered from within Virtualmin, as well as using the password recovery plugin.
  • Added support for backing up to and restoring from Dropbox, similar to Virtualmin’s existing Google Cloud Storage backup feature.
  • Switch from the old dkim-milter package to OpenDKIM on CentOS 7 systems.

This also fixes a couple of issues that were preventing Ilia from being able to do some of the stuff he wanted to do with tables and quota reporting. Ilia also rolled out version 10.0 of Authentic Theme yesterday, so if you’re using that, upgrading that is also a good idea. We’ll be rolling a new Webmin in a few days which will include Ilia’s theme (not the default yet, but it will be available within the standard Webmin package).

As always, if you find issues, let us know!

Cheers,

Joe

Hi After updating, there seems to be 2 options to Refresh System Info?

Thanks.

Haha…yeah, that looks wrong. Lemme see if I can figure out what’s happening there.

Added support for backing up to and restoring from Dropbox, similar to Virtualmin’s existing Google Cloud Storage backup feature.

This is a pro feature?

Yes, I believe so, for a while, in order to recoup cost of developing it.

Is there a fix for the “double” Refresh system information links?

I see why it’s happening, but don’t know how to fix it off-hand. I’ve opened a ticket to see if Jamie can square it away.

The why: Both System Status and Virtualmin produce a “Refresh system information” link. Virtualmin is theoretically able to override that and tell Webmin not to show the one for System Status, but that doesn’t seem to be working. Likely a very easy fix, but I’ll either have to dig deeper, or wait for Jamie’s solution.

Thanks, I noticed it to but was lazy to report it

Would be awesome if backup to dropbox made it’s way into Virtualmin GPL

I’ll chat with Jamie about it, next time we talk. It’s probably been long enough.

Awesome … crossing my fingers

I would really not advice that unless dropbox will provide some kind of ssh or sftp or ftps transfer for files. Dropbox is really rubbish. Current way of doing backups are really great.

Well… it’s already a pro feature, and I don’t see it as a replacement, but just an extra backup layer…

sure, i understand.

As optional suggestion from me: The best extra backup layer (for me) is/would home server - fast, secure and free…old laptop or pi will do (or desktop if you not worry about electricity costs). But if you like dropbox, no problem  but personally I still think that dropbox is not good idea.
