I managed to resolve the issue by first installing GPL version and then using the upgrade tool to go to Pro. Question is why the command failed? If i am to repeat this on a new install, it would also fail. Maybe the script needs to be updated?

I have had issues with RHEL and the Virtualmin installer before too. It looks like the installer has enabled the incorrect repositories, as unless you have a subscription for EUS (Extended Update Support), it will fail.

In Terminal, check which repos are enabled by typing:

$ subscription-manager repos --list-enabled

This is the output from a RHEL 8 system I had to hand (similar repos are needed for 9):

Might be a bug in the pro installer?

I use Redhat Free Subscription (the one with 16 servers), no extended support.

The problem the installer encountered was that it tried to use the following repository:

And you’re on a developer license which doesn’t have access to EUS.

I understand. I guess it doesn’t use it for upgrade from free to pro?
