Virtualmin not working with MySQL 5.7

Hello,

I installed Virtualmin (ver 4.18) on Ubuntu 14.04. It was working fine. Then, I upgraded MySQL to version 5.7.9 using official MySQL APT Repository. MySQL is now working properly but Virtualmin not.

I cannot create a virtual server. The error is: “Failed to create virtual server : SQL select password from user where user = ‘mydomain.com’ failed : Unknown column ‘password’ in ‘field list’”.

Any ideas?

Howdy,

We unfortunately haven’t done much testing of MySQL versions other than what comes standard with the supported distros.

Webmin or Virtualmin will likely need some tweaks to get that working.
