Virtualmin not accessible after Post Install Wizard.

I have a CentOS VPS. I installed Virtualmin using the Automatic Method (install.sh), the install completed but after completing the Post Install Wizard, I cannot access Virtualmin anymore. Browser says it maybe temporarily down.

How can I fix this?

Hi,

Have tried confirming that Webmin is still alive?

Try issuing a /etc/init.d/httpd restart, then attempt to access the page again.

I restarted httpd and the VPS but it is still the same.

I did this multiple times, reinstalling OS, then install Virtualmin but can only make it until the Post Install Wizard.

Hi,

Would you open to a screen sharing session? I could then check if there’s anything actually causing your issue, and either suggest or correct the issue accordingly.

Here’s what I found out:

Webmin service will automatically stop when I access webmin from the browser. I observed it while connecting via SSH. I started webmin, access webmin from the browser and it opens the login page, after login it will just says offline. When checking webmin status, it says STOPPED therefore browser will say it is temporarily offline.

I do not know why it just stopped.

Howdy,

Are you by chance using an OpenVZ-based VPS?

If so, can you paste in the contents of your /proc/user_beancounters file?

-Eric

Yes, this is OpenVZ.

/proc/user_beancounters result attached,

Hmm, the right side of the information in that file seems to be cut off.

Did you by chance open it in nano, and then copy and paste it from nano?

There’s a “failcnt” field that I’m interested in seeing – that shows if any resource limits are being reached. That field is on the far right of the user_beancounters file.

-Eric

This is fix now.

This is caused by resource limits so I disabled some modules that run on startup.

Thanks.
