Virtualmin not accepting correct php config file

Ok Joe.

Can i install php extensions? I dont need both libapache2-mod-php libapache2-mod-php8.1 but i need others. Can i install all extension except libapache2-mod-php libapache2-mod-php8.1?

@Gomez_Adams

i have cms too. sorry i forget to tell you.

Doesn’t require php extensions. I’m familiar with 5 different plugins and never once has any of them required any special extension, just an up to date version of php. Nothing more.

Why don’t you just state the plugin you run that needs all that?

@Gomez_Adams

ok

I don’t give a damn about extensions. Just don’t install mod_php.

@Joe

Please tell me which script is best for ubuntu 22.04. freshly installed ubuntu

Either one. You can use:

wget https://software.virtualmin.com/gpl/scripts/install.sh

or the new Beta installer for 7.1

wget https://software.virtualmin.com/gpl/scripts/vm7-beta-install.sh

They both work perfectly on 22.04

this script is stable for 22.04?
wget https://software.virtualmin.com/gpl/scripts/install.sh

Yes. They both are.

The big difference is that in the old installer (the one you posted) on Ubuntu it has a default of MySQL for the database server.

The new 7.1 beta installer uses MariaDB by default, which frankly, is the better way to go. I’ve used it on my test server with 22.04 server and it works to perfection.

@Gomez_Adams

Ok. Thanks for guiding me

Only the beta installer works on 22.04.

It is not. It does not support 22.04. Only the Virtualmin 7 beta installer supports 22.04.

mod_php is depreaced and will breake a lot of websites. We had big problems but then I saw a notice that it is depreaced so I purged it and now all works flawless. Run FPM
