Im trying to install Virtualmin on a CentOS x86 Server, And i get the following errors;
Checking for HTTP client…found /usr/bin/curl -s -O
Checking for perl…found /usr/bin/perl
chmod: cannot access `spinner’: No such file or directory
Loading log4sh logging library…
Could not load logging library from software.virtualmin.com. Cannot continue.
We’re not just stopping because we don’t have a logging library–this probably
indicates a serious problem that will prevent successful installation anyway.
Check network connectivity, name resolution and disk space and try again.
Can someone please assist in how to solve this error?
Well, the error there suggests something is pretty awry… did you verify that you have network connectivity and can see other servers on the net? And does DNS work?
I know this is an old post, but i face the same problem today ( 13/01/2016 ).
Maybe it fails due the new drupal website ?
Is “install.sh” updated for new servers ?
Settings checked
Internet -> Net access is correct, no proxy is pre/post configured.
DNS -> Using Google as principal nameserver and OpenDNS as secondary.
HDD IO -> It is all new, and all work fine.
Directory /tmp is accessible and the w/r access is correct.

Ping works fine too

There were recently some software repository things changed, and during that process, this error could have happened. It should be good to go now, but let us know if you run into that issue again.
It sounds like your server could be seeing a DNS issue. I’d suggest reviewing the DNS server that’s listed in /etc/resolv.conf, and verify that the nameserver listed there is the correct one.
Today I am unable to access software.virtualmin.com, so unable to install Virtualmin. When will be your servers back, so that I can reinstate my installation at Amazon’s EC2.
