Why would you need to be moving the mail in the first place?

Ignore, tested and works fine
And, yes, as you found out, nothing has changed in mail handling in Virtualmin, at least with regard to mail spools, in many years.
The only thing extra I had to do was set correct permissions and run doveadm force-resync on users inbox, else nothing shows in the webmail.
All good apart from that.
