Virtualmin access is blocked

Hello, I made many mistakes in my password and can’t access it, how can I fix it, please help?

There are multiple ways you can get blocked from a Virtualmin server. Webmin and Usermin themselves have brute force protection when too many bad credentials are entered, blocking for some configurable time (but only 60 seconds by default). The Virtualmin installer also installs and enables fail2ban.

For both, you can just wait a while. They both time out and unban your IP after a while, assuming you get the credentials right next time, you won’t have a problem.

Or, if you can’t wait a while, you can manually unban.

For fail2ban: Delete all fail2ban bans in Ubuntu Linux - Unix & Linux Stack Exchange

For Webmin edit /etc/webmin/miniserv.conf and remove your IP from deny (I think that’s where it is) and restart Webmin. But, by the time you read this, you’re already unbanned.
