Error message from miniserver.error log when client kept trying wrong password.
/session_login.cgi : Access denied for 65.181.14.69. The host has been blocked because of too many authentication failures.
How to clear it?
How to set a value for when it happens?
I need an answer urgently as the domain name expires in a few hours and they need to check what email is going there.
Any help appreciated.
Sounds like fail2ban, can you ssh on?
Ok there is a usermin block on failed attempts, try turning that off
If urgent, just login to virtualmin using your admin account and browse to the users account, can you not launch usermin from their pre-logged in?
Or just change the passwords it will not stop emails coming in.
systemctl restart usermin
I marked Stefan’s reply as Solved as it showed me where the settings for this are, so I can now understand it.
Ilia is probably also right though I didn’t get to try it as it timed out and let the client back in.
