Unable to receive e-mails issue

Hi,

Need some help here. It’s my first time using Virtualmin and I have everything set up. I am able to send mails from my server but when I try to use gmail or hotmail to send e-mail to the server I receive errors.

Here’s an error message from gmail:

Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:

 support@mmoez.com

Technical details of permanent failure:
Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the server for the recipient domain mmoez.com by smtp.secureserver.net. [68.178.213.203].

The error that the other server returned was:
550 5.1.1 support@mmoez.com Recipient not found. http://x.co/irbounce

I have set A record on my Godaddy account as follow:

107.191.96.197 is my VPS IP.

Error 550 5.1.1 means:

  • you didnt use correct email address

  • your didnt properly setup your DNS

  • problems with postfix but less likely than first two options

I would put my money on DNS and this is where you should start looking for a problem.

Solved it. Thanks. I updated the MX Records on Godaddy and it worked.
