Hello everyone,

I’ve just installed Virtualmin on Debian 13 using the installer at
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/virtualmin/virtualmin-install/master/virtualmin-install.sh

I haven’t had the chance to review or test everything yet, but it seems to be working — great, thank you!

However, I’ve noticed that the “Cluster” and “Un-used Modules” menus do not appear in Webmin. This is blocking for me, as I need the latter in order to enable certain modules. Do you have any idea what I could do?

Note that when I click “Refresh Modules”, I see the following:

Checking for usable Webmin modules ..
.. found 48 with installed applications, 0 not installed.

Thanks in advance, and best wishes for 2026!

Yes, this is expected. The new Virtualmin 8 testing repos now have only core Webmin modules installed by default.

However, any other Webmin non-core module can be easily installed manually. You can see which Webmin modules are available for separate install by running:

apt-cache show webmin-* | grep Package:

or

dnf list | grep -v @ | grep webmin-*

There is nothing in the GUI to indicate what is available? The method you just previewed is more than a little obscure.

Not yet, but I can make it available in the UI.

Webmin modules should have their own install/uninstall page and tied into a catalog like wordpres

Just a thought

Just curious, why remove it?

Provide only the modules that are really used with Virtualmin, making it simpler UI, lighter in size, and more modular too.

I haven’t seen VMin 8 yet, so I am hoping that you reconsider.

Until then I have to keep deleting my thoughts.

You can install any modules you want/need, it’s not like we’re taking anything away.

I don’t think it’s urgent that we reduce the size of the Webmin install, but with all the translations added, the package has grown pretty large in recent years. A faster install that has everything the vast majority of users use seems like a pretty good thing to aim for.
