Ubuntu Livepatch

I’m running Ubuntu 18.04 LTS on my VPS. I ssh’d into my account and I got a notice that said Ubuntu has Livepatch so you can get kernel patched without rebooting. I assume VM doesn’t build a kernel module when a new kernel is installed thus needing a reboot so Livepatch won’t be a problem? I know this is why people use Debian or Centos but I run Ubuntu at home so I know it

We don’t touch the kernel.
