I know it’s only the debian and centos distros the script supports, but Ubuntu is a child of debian so I thought it would work. And what’s stopping me doesn’t seem to be a limitation of ubuntu either - it seems like an apt problem.
Ubuntu 7.04 with the GPL Virtualmin install.sh script.
Please help. Thank you.

Sorry, Ubuntu 7.04 is not supported. There is no repository for it, and thus no packages for it to install–if someone (i.e. me) doesn’t build the packages for the platform, the install definitely will not work. Nothing simple is going to make it work.
Ubuntu 6.06LTS probably will be supported soon in the GPL installer. It already has support in the Professional installer…and that means most of the work is done (it just requires testing, a few script modifications to make the links to the right packages, and some extra hassle during repository maintenance). I think very highly of Ubuntu on the desktop…but only the LTS releases are really suitable for servers. I still prefer Debian in that context, actually. 4.0 is awesome on the server.
