I try to turn on the DNS on a test domain and I got a error, sorry i dodn’t get the error at the time. The edit domain showed it on so I turned it off. now when I try to turn it on I get this error
I even deleted the virtual server and restored from last nights full backup but I still get that error even though the backup had it as off.
This just happened and I presume it this update as I could it on and off fine yesterday.

This is unrelated to the Webmin 2.501 or Virtualmin 7.40.0 upgrade.
The good news is that it’s super easy to fix. Just go to “Manage Virtual Server ⇾ Edit Features Association” page and check the “DNS for domain” feature. After that, you will be able to toggle it on the “Edit Virtual Server” page like you always do.

Opps spoke to fine, I get this error after turning off then turning on.
Ok it keeps turning off here.
So turning off at Edit Virtual Server section turns off at Edit Features.
Do you have the actual domain zone listed in the “Servers ⇾ BIND DNS Server” module?
Also, if you click the “Edit Config File” icon in the “BIND DNS Server” module, is the domain zone in question referenced? If so, which file does it point to, and what does this file contain?
No it isn’t and not in edit config file either.

Turning on and off at Associate and Disassociate Features
turns it on and off in edit virtual server.
I meant in Webmin tab, i.e. “Webmin / Servers ⇾ BIND DNS Server” module.
It wasn’t there before but is not, I did something to get in there.

I think I know what was causing it, I had 2 tabs with virtualmin running.
