Trying to install Piwigo but it’s looking for MariaDB how can I install it when the default DB is PostgreSQL

Part 2 also am I able to update the Version of Ubuntu to 24.04

Generally speaking we only support Mariadb for Install Scripts, even in most cases where the application has some kind of support for PostgreSQL (there are exceptions, but mostly that’s true). This is because most web applications we support are developed primarily for Mariadb/MySQL, and even if core works with PostgreSQL maybe plugins and extensions and such don’t or documentation assumes Mariadb/MySQL and leading our users to install for PostgreSQL is just making their life harder in the future in ways we can’t help with (we’re not experts on any of the apps we install, we can’t help with deep app level support).

But, in this case, I don’t think Piwigo supports PostgreSQL, so we certainly can’t support it.

So, the first step would be making Piwigo support PostgreSQL in a well-documented and simple to configure way. Then, maybe we can talk about what it would take to make the Virtualmin Piwigo installer work with that.

No part 2. Make new topics for new issues.

Thank you for prompt reply, I found out how to install the Maria DB, how can I get to the freshly installed site, I am in Germany and am not setup online, I’m using Virtualmin to develop website on my local network, and when I return to the states go live
