I wanted to put in a shameless plug for the Virtualmin/Webmin team for building great VPS control panel’s, and to wish the staff and all Virtualmin/Webmin users “Happy Holidays”!
This is my 3rd year of using the GPL versions of both Webmin and Virtualmin, and the product or staff have not disappointed me, as some other control panel vendors have. I try to donate something each year to the Virtualmin/Webmin products, and did so again voluntarily this year.
I am retired, not a professional site manager, but a hobbyist. I donate when I am able to.
I only have 1 site that I actually run for a non-profit group, and the rest are just hobby servers that I use to learn about the different flavors of Linux and CMS systems.
I appreciate the ease that Virtualmin can build a complete system. I also appreciate the simplicity of Webmin.
Recently, I built a complete single domain VPS system using only Webmin, including a working postfix/dovecot/roundcube email server. What took me about 3 hours to setup with Webmin, could be accomplished in about 1 hour with Virtualmin. It just shows the flexibility of both systems, and shows that either panel can likely fit your needs.
Would you mind sharing the place where you did that donation ? I’m always wondering about buying the “pro” version of Virtualmin but I find the licensing system not really adequate for my business (don’t ask me why, I did post something about it almost 2 years ago, to answer I would have to recheck all the licensing scheme) but I would’nt mind making a donation once in a while …
