System Down Alert

SYSTEM INFORMATION
OS type and version Rocky Linux 8.8
Webmin version 2.103
Cloudmin version 9.7 Connect

Way back years ago, I could set up simple system down alerts. I’ve looked all over and can’t find this feature anymore. Is it still there somewhere? Is there a work around if this no longer is available. I would love to monitor various services through Cloudmin. System Down, Dovecot Down, Postfix Down. I know Virtualmin can so some of this but how can it send an email if the system is down or Postfix is down?

Thanks!

The System and Server Status module is in both Cloudmin and Virtualmin (it’s in Webmin in the Tools menu, and both Cloudmin and Virtualmin includes all of Webmin). It has System Down monitors, among others. There’s may be some Cloudmin specific monitor types, too, I’m not sure.

I don’t think there was ever any other monitoring/alerting functionality that’s been removed, but maybe there used to be more setup by default, or maybe the dashboard has changed in Authentic Theme (where maybe Cloudmin with the old framed theme included more alerts, by default, I’m not sure).

Eureka! It is in Cloudmin → System Monitoring → System Alerts

There is a second pull-down under variables which is simply for system down and system up alerts. I got hung up on the long selections under the first variable. The second looked pretty bare until I clicked the pull down. Sorry about that. I did find the question in the forums. Perhaps this answer will help others.

Thanks!
