Also I’d like to be able to see what the default settings are right on the page when something is set to default.
For example:
Webmin, MariaDB Database Server, Server Connection, MariaDB port to connect to, Default.
I’m trying to troubleshoot a mysql connection issue. But I don’t know what port is the default.
When will the fix be added to the installation script? I tried a new install and still have the same error.
Is there a file I can download to patch it in the meantime?
This is not a bug in the installation script. It is a bug in the Virtualmin nginx package. There will be an updated package soon.
The patch is linked by Jamie above. But, if you prefer to download the whole file, it’s https://github.com/virtualmin/virtualmin-nginx/raw/master/virtual_feature.pl and would go in /usr/share/webmin/virtualmin-nginx (on a Debian system).
One other issue I just found out that is related to this one. I tried deleting and recreating this virtual server after this error occured. And it told me I couldn’t recreate it because it already exists. Strange because I think I had recreated this before on the other vps I had. But this time it didn’t work on the new server. Not sure if it’s related or some difference between Ubuntu 22.04 and Debian 12 install. This one is Debian 12. The other was Ubuntu 22.04.
