Upgraded:

This is the first time I’ve encountered this error. I did some googling, one suggestion was to restart the server because SSSD may have been upgraded in the past and the system needed to restart in order to apply/restart SSSD. That didn’t do it. I also checked if SSSD is suppose to start when the system boots up, and it’s suppose to, but it was not running. I tried to manually start it and it would not. I checked the status for SSSD and got the following:

● sssd.service - System Security Services Daemon
Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/sssd.service; enabled; vendor preset>
   Active: inactive (dead)
Condition: start condition failed at Thu 2024-09-05 16:36:29 EDT; 12s ago
           ├─ ConditionPathExists=|/etc/sssd/sssd.conf was not met
           └─ ConditionDirectoryNotEmpty=|/etc/sssd/conf.d was not met

I also checked if there is a /etc/sssd/sssd.conf config file and there isn’t.

If anyone can shed some light on this, I’d greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

Using Rocky 9 and I get the same on sssd, as long as the upgrade was complete and the virus scanner working I don’t think you need to worry, if it failed then you worry.

I think clamv is a big waste of system resources, client virus scanner do a better job.

sssd looks like a non need service for virtualmin
