We’ve been having trouble getting LE certs configured using certbot. We need one for the main domain and then we also require a wildcard cert for the subdomains of our vmin server.
After several failed attempts, we seem to have successfully acquired LE certs for both the domain and the wildcard cert according to both certbot and if I check the details of the current cert under Webmin Configuration → SSL encryption → Current Certificate. However, if we visit our vmin site and we use the browser certificate checker we can see it is not using the same certificate that vmin tells it is using. Instead the browser tells us the old ssl cert (that didn’t also have the wildcard cert) is still being used.
We’ve restarted webmin and Apache and also rebooted the server in full but our browsers are still picking up the old SSL cert without the wildcard cert that we need being present so I’m out of ideas now.
What can cause this mismatch of SSL certs? I thought certbot overwrote and old certs with the new ones which should prevent this happening?
Is there anything else we can do to force the latest certs to be used?
Thanks
