virtual memory is Swap space. you probably didn’t create a swap partition during OS installation. (you can add a swap file in installed system, if needed).

cannot think of anyway it would have been removed upstream. was looking for some way to check, or if there had been some other interference/hacking
don’t know why - just taken the VM through a boot cycle (nothing to update) but just thought it would clear the air
and it did just that - now back to showing 4 dials
I had a teacher that owned a calculator with a print out. In his wallet he carried a printout that obviously had the math wrong. In his case it was to prove to his math students that estimating your expected answer isn’t a waste of time. But here? Computers glitch.
