Spamasassin config?

Hey.
Can i use spamasassin or some other way to sort all emails that have a unsubscribe button in them or otherwise comes from some mail list to go in to a separate folder when it arrives?
And any that dont have spf or somehow resolve back to sending server to get put in to spam folder?

Now by default it seems to not really do much about the majority of the spam that arrives.

Where do you wish to begin?

Is it your requirement to reduce the amount of spam that you are getting or have you narrowed down the problem such that tweaking SPF and checking for unsubscribe links will address the issue to your satisfaction.

Because the two may be mutually exclusive. Spamassassin already flags mail which does not have valid SPF and assigns a score to it; you could tweak the value of this. It is also possible to detect if a message has an unsubscribe link and then move that message to a folder of your choice. My point is that you will still receive spam even after you do both these things and at the same time you might throw away many legit messages which have, say, an unsubscribe link. False positives.

Do you perhaps simply wish to ask the community how you can configure Virtualmin to get spamassassin to process mail more strictly? There is a simple answer to that question without getting into special processing for SPF and unsubscribe links.

try
webmin->servers->spam assassin mail filter ->header and body tests->advanced and add some rules there. The page should look something like

Hey.
Yeha i had some problems before with mails not going trough when the senders did not bother using spf etc. So i would prefer they just got sorted in to the spam folder then and the user can find it there if they miss some.
