SMTP 535 authentication failure

Hey,
I can receive and send messages from within the webmin panel, But when I try to link my email account via the IMAP + SMTP, It shows me an error and that the information is wrong, I did an SMTP check through this site SMTP Test Tool

and it told me the following error (ERROR: 535: 5.7.8 Error: authentication failed: authentication failure)
what can i do to fix this error? i just did a clean install of Virtualmin and it’s the same error

Hello @yousefmahdi and welcome to the community.

You are able to send and receive email via Webmin / Usermin so let’s check if you have applied the correct settings to your email client. In Virtualmin → Edit Users there is a button captioned “Show Email Client Settings”. Could you check if your email client has the exact same vales applied as specified when you click that button?

Additionally, if your hostname is server.domain.tld could you put that in your email client for incoming server (POP / IMAP) and outgoing server (SMTP) and see if it solves the problem?
