Simple GUI for Virtualmin

The one thing I would love to see in Virtualmin is regrouping and the order of grouping.
You have configurations in services that belong in Server Configuration and where Disable and Delete should be the last group on the list.
Or, I would get rid of Services all together and place everything in that group inside Server Configuration.
On the Server Administration side perhaps the Services group serves as a function where as on the Customer/User Website end it doesn’t.

For Virtualmin user side I would like to see more options to remove Webmin Modules. Plus you have duplicate links such as File Manager.
Is there a place where I could add/remove options in Server configuration for the User?
some customers want all the bells and whistles and others don’t

I have been in and out of Virtualmin since oh man 2001 starting as a module inside Webmin.
I have never used any other control panel, if I needed to host a website outside of services I offer, so I can’t compare.

But, as everyone is saying “we got customers coming in from cpanel” yep, same here.
Although I haven’t received any complaints on my end as far as Virtualmin interface goes.

I would also like to add one more thing if I may? about Usermin.

You guys really don’t know what you have here. Because if you did, you would be out shinning the whole web control panel industry.

I think that everyone that uses Webmin and Virtualmin should hang out in Usermin for a couple days if you haven’t spent much time there.

I honestly think this is where all the feedback needs to be focused on now. Especially if you offer webmail with your hosting.
You can eliminate all your problems and headaches of installing web-mail clients such as Roundcube, Rainloop, etc… etc…by pointing your customers to Usermin.

Maybe. But I think doubtful. Most users are clueless. Even the most trivial style changes knock them for a loop.

I once got chewed out by a client for increasing the vertical space between radio buttons on a form they used for internal messaging. I wanted to make it easier to use on mobile. But the client complained that they “couldn’t find anything anymore.”

The line spacing was the only change. Nothing was moved. But clients are clueless.

As for Usermin in general, the last time I used the email client forwarding wasn’t possible (it was “coming soon”). I don’t know if that’s still the case, but forwarding would have to be possible before people could realistically use it as a primary email client. It’s too common a function to be without.

On the other hand, the Usermin functionality for creating filters and the like is superb, especially with the Procmail Mail Filters plugin. I use that all the time.

… and I would add so are many “admins” after all we are all “users” at the end of the day and all subject to the “specifications” drawn up by some “committee” in “developer’s blue sky”. If we are really lucky we get a chance to influence that continued development.

Please, just make any changes gradual, remember I am just a user
