Server Template for DNS domain does not recognize Hostname entered for MX record

Hostname for MX record has Hostname ticked and the server hostname that the server and postfix uses entered in the field.

Problem is when the DNS record is created, it defaults to mail.domain.tld for the MX record instead of the hostname.

This server does not host the DNS records and relies on the Suggested DNS Records for copying the DNS entries needed.

Can you screenshot what you mean, not sure where that is.
MX records can point to any name as long it has a A record.
Suggested record are just that, a suggestion.

Sure no problem.

The section highlighted in the image is where you can enter your hostname in place of using mail.domain.tld

Ok, so the servers hostname (not the vrtualserver) is not taking.
Templates only work on new created virtualserver (I think), so you tested on a new virtual server.

Yes this is setup for newly created virtual servers. The template adds all rules and additional records no problem, accept the hostname entered for the MX record. I believe this worked in the past on an old server that’s long gone but doesn’t work here on the new server.

Yeah tested myself, not working. Only if you don’t enable DNS, it then adds the correct MX.
So Suggested seems to be using a different template maybe?

As stated above. The template is adding the additional records along with the spf and dmarc settings. It’s just not picking up the MX record settings.

You will need to report the bug then. I’ve never really used suggested as I done it so many times, but if your customers need it.

Thank you for your time @stefan1959 very much appreciate it.
