So there is no error but the alias doesn’t work. I checked the host file for the parent virtual server but the alias wasn’t added to the config file.
“Create alias websites by Add ServerAlias to parent” is selected in the server template.
Where is the problem?

The domain "karrieremp.de" should be a alias for the domain "karrieremitplan.de". In /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/ only the config file for the virtual server ("karrieremitplan.de.conf") exists.
I found a bug report here. This article describes what you must do to have add a ServerAlias entry automatically. I checked my settings and my system cofniguration is correct.
Sorry, I might not have been clear – I meant that you should file a bug report if it’s not working the way it’s supposed to.
So, just to go over all this – you’re saying that in the Server Template in the Apache Website section, that “Create alias websites by” field is set to “Add ServerAlias to parent”.
But, when creating a Virtual Server alias, it does not add a new ServerAlias parameter to the parent?
Does that seem to be the issue you’re having?

this sounds like my problem. The alias will be created and it is visible in the virtualmin backend but there is no ServerAlias parameter added to the parent.
Sorry if I misunderstood you because of the bug report but i thought you will write the report.
