Roundcube attachments not working (for inbound mail)

With my Roundcube 1.6.11 I get broken images for attachments and embedded images, and “Download” on attachments errors. Although an attachment is the right size after download it is not openable for having been corrupted.

Downloading the same attachment works fine in Usermin.

In Roundcube the “copy link” looks like this:

In Usermin it looks like this:

Is this familiar to anyone?

I have altered my Roundcube a little (I shimmed in a “Forgot password?” link on failed login, and also made two alternate skins which add a “Usermin” and “Webmin” button to the left if selected). I will spin up an out-of-the-box Virtualmin shortly and report if this is my-doing or if it comes this way. Just hoping this is a recognizable/fixable thing someone knows.

Actually, the now that I look, the last line showing, at least for me might be a hint for the missing image part.

This was me. If there is some way to delete this thread it might should be since this won’t affect anyone else.

Long story short, I have a python script that runs when I create new domains that tweaks Roundcube a little (it sticks in “your-domain” to be the Roundcube default so users can login with just “username”, adds a link to Usermin’s “Forgot your password?” spin-around to the failed login attempt error, and adds a couple of slightly modified skins which give users Usermin and Webmin buttons). It’s clumsy though and rewrites whole files with text replacement and I ended up with a blank line before the “<?php” in my index.php, which was just enough to break image attachments apparently.
