Hello,
I am trying to login via ROOT through SSH to my VPS- on this VPS Centos 5.6 + Virtualmin/webmin are installed…
However immediately after Login the session gets terminated.
How do I ensure that after ROOT logs in, the session does not immediately end?
Regards,
Arvind.
Depending on the SSH client you use, this can happen if some auto-login password is incorrect.
Otherwise, what does “immediately” mean? Can you still see the welcome message and command prompt? How long does it take until you get disconnected? What client are you using? How does the disconnection manifest itself exactly?
Hello
I am using Putty. When I login, a single line message is shown and immediately the ssh window closes.
I cant make out the message. Is there some way I can see the message in Putty?
Regards,
Arvind.
I’m using Putty too. Have you set auto-login credentials? Then that one line could probably be “Using username root”, and it closes right away if the password is wrong.
To prevent the window from closing, you can set the “close window on exit” option on the connection screen appropriately.
