We can’t fix Red Hat’s repos. I don’t know why they’d break it, it seems like developer tools are pretty important.

I don’t have a good suggestion for installing on RHEL9, other than wait on them to fix their repos. You could try RHEL 8, since hopefully they didn’t break older repos, too. You could also install on Rocky or Alma. Though I should also mention that we’ve done a lot more testing on version 8 for all of these, and I’m hesitant to call 9 supported (though Ilia tells me it works)…now that Virtualmin 7 is out, I can spend more time with version 9.

Joe, I am wondering if the programs required for VirtualMin have been moved to another repo?

Ilia, I saw that post and the install.sh is taken from the Downloads page and has the added “*” in it. The problem is that the repo doesn’t exist at present.

As you list repos I don’t see codeready-builder-for-rhel-9-x86_64-rpms repo.

Is this system upgraded from RHEL 8 to 9? If so, there is something wrong, as your codeready-builder-for-rhel-8-x86_64-rpms repo should be 9 not 8. We are looking for exact match on the install script.

I don’t see any issues on our side.

The work-aroud would be to fix the repos names or enable codeready-builder-for-rhel-8-x86_64-rpms manually before installation.

There was a bug. We will fix it in Virtualmin install 7.0.1 release.

It’s been checked into github: Revert "Fix enabling `codeready` on RHEL 9" · virtualmin/virtualmin-install@2cc9871 · GitHub

You can just grab the raw version of virtualmin-install.sh, until it gets tagged as a new version and goes to the repos.

I will try the Wizard tomorrow.

I am now having the same problem with RHEL 8.7, is the new installer getting close?

The installer from Git mentioned above does work.
