Recovering Data from an Old Blog on Cowblog.fr

Hello everyone,

I’m looking for a way to recover data from a blog that was hosted on Cowblog (cowblog.fr), a blogging platform that seems to have shut down. Unfortunately, the site is no longer accessible, and I didn’t make a local backup at the time.

I’m wondering if there’s any way to retrieve this data, either through old server backups or by accessing databases that might have been managed with Virtualmin or another web administration tool.

Does anyone have any insight into Cowblog’s hosting structure?
Is there any way to contact the former administrators or find backups of the site?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

You need to contact the administrators of the system.

We’re not a hosting provider, we don’t own or manage the server. It’s just running software we made. We don’t even know who most Virtualmin users are.

You can always use the wayback machine but this is not ideal.

there is some some data there, I used it once to rebuild a site.
Looks like a big job though.
