We have noticed in the last week or so the nightly back ups are having issues, I have traced it down to the old back ups are no longer being deleted and hence very quickly the disk fills up and then no other back ups can be done.

So eg we have set a nightly back up keeping the last 7 days .. once the 7 days passes it used to delete the oldest back up on roll on now the old back up is no longer being deleted, I can see 12 old back ups on the disk. I deleted all the back ups and watched it going forward same issue does not delete the old back ups.

Thanks
Michael

backup log should have some error.. (?)

Nothing of use, it tells me is failed because its out of space. That I know. The issue would be from the day before where it has not deleted the old back up and given this back up was successful no errors logged.

logs from previous days regarding deletion?

Deleting backups from local file /Backup-Drv matching .-.-.* older than 4 days ..
Deleting directory /Backup-Drv//13-09-2025, which is 5 days old ..
.. deleted 500.84 GiB
.. deleted 1 old backups, and skipped 5 that were not old enough

But its not happening, backup remains

Anyone having issues with backups, please upgrade to Virtualmin 7.40.1 and WP Workbench 2.0.1 as soon as possible.

Hi Ilia

I cant see anything in the 7.40.1 release notes that seems to fix this ?

Also workbench 2.0.1 isnt showing up yet

Thanks

You should refresh the available packages to get it.
