Raising MariaDB to 10.11.14 (Alma 10)

SYSTEM INFORMATION
OS type and version Alma 10.0
Webmin version 2.510
Virtualmin version 7.40.1
Webserver version 2.4.63
Related packages MariaDB 10.11.11

Has anyone attempted on Alma 10 to use the MariaDB repo and raise the MariaDB server version to 10.11.14 (version on MariaDB repo).

I did manage to do it but then in virtualmin ui it was complaining about a perl file for connection to the server or something, have not been able to figure it out sadly and spent hour or so with chatgpt so will need someone who knows what they are doing.

It would be nice to open up the mariaDB own repo for use if possible but for now i’ll use the Alma version until someone can figure this out. @Ilia any ideas on this?

"Saying ‘or something’ is never helpful. Can you show the exact error message?

And, by the way, I don’t recommend using the MariaDB repo because your OS version is usually all you need for a hassle-free MariaDB database server. Seriously, don’t do it—save yourself some time.

alright i’ll keep it as is for now. I cant get at the actual message again as i rolled back my snapshot at this point but its the connector that virtualmin uses to speak with the server far as i could tell but as it did not work it was falling back to another method which was working.
