Hi all
I think this is related to virtualmin ?
Can anyone tell what it is and is it normal for it do take the cpu sometimes up to 90-99% for way to long ?

Suse SLES9

Thank you

Hey Henry,

Yes, is the Virtualmin bandwidth usage processor. It is resource intensive–bandwidth usage measurement is a resource intensive task. But there may be an issue in it at the moment–there is an open bug about this process here, though the cause of the problem is unknown at this point:

I can say, however, that it is not abnormal for to eat up a lot of CPU for a few minutes at a time throughout the day, if your server has very high bandwidth usage…and there isn’t a whole lot we can do about it–the process is very simple, but it potentially has to deal with a lot of data. For most folks, it isn’t a problem…but if you’ve got a lot of domains or a few heavily used ones, it could be for you.

Hi Joe,
Thanks for the quik reply, i will disable the bandwidth monitoring for now, to see how it will impact the cpu and examine the logs on the server.

Thank you
