Problem with dovecot after updating to Ubuntu 24

After migrating from Ubuntu Linux 22.04.5 users are unable to login

dovecot: imap-login: Fatal: Error reading configuration: read((fd)) disconnected before receiving end-of-settings line - Also failed to read config by executing doveconf: stat(/run/dovecot/config) failed: No such file or directory (path is from CONFIG_FILE environment)

it was the dovecot.conf file witch have multiple entries for one domain…
