I had a similar problem a week or two ago with a migration. I didn’t troubleshoot it because it was a small site with no databases and no mail of any importance. I just deleted it, re-created the virtual server, and re-uploaded the files with SFTP to save time. But now I’m wondering if there might be a glitch in the migration routine that only manifests in certain peculiar circumstances.
In my case, an additional problem (other than the 403 error) was that PHP-FPM wasn’t available as an option after migration; so I’m thinking maybe it had something mnon-standard in cPanel’s EasyApache PHP build that may have caused Virtualmin’s more standard, distro-based Apache and/or PHP to vomit.
I know none of this as fact because, as I said, I didn’t spend any time troubleshooting because it wasn’t worth it for that particular site. I’m just looking for clues to a possible pattern.
Did you create the virtual server manually or manually via webmin? Or did you set it up via wizard from webmin? If its via wizard, then it should have set the necessary requirements.
Can you post the config from that virtual server, I am talking about the vhost file.
the configuration of my webmin is this. I’ve got a “main” domain (that we call domain-pro.it) with 100 database (that are 100 domains, included this one with the problem). No sub-server or other.
Now: with other domains (gilettogomme.com) everything was good. With this… not.
I’m still not quite clear. A is pointing to my VPS… Which one is your HOST NAME?.. Is the HN a sub? … Did you add the NS from your HN to the domain you’re trying to get SSL for?..
I am glad that you are not my developer to begin with. DNS is fairly simple to handle on its like a book once you can read it, you will understand it. - here is no spoon feeding attitude meaning - we can help you but you will need to learn your questions - so far you can make money and google it… there is also pro support from officials in virtualmin channel… ask them - they will not disappoint you
