I am trying to install WordPress. When I enter install script, in the password section it states to PLEASE MATCH THE REQUESTED FORMAT? What is the correct format?

I normally use Initial login for script but I see the issue.
This maybe a bug

Thats weird, if I leave the prefilled password there its ok, its only when I change the password the error occurs, I can change the username and its fine.

@stefan1959 There was indeed a bug that we have fixed already for a new Virtualmin release.

@timtombob To resolve the issue, simply add a number to the password in the provided text box. The issue was that the server-generated password was purely alphabetical, whereas an alphanumeric password is required.

I am on Virtualmin 7.9.0 and I am not seeing any available updates. I am unable to install Wordpress due to the “PLEASE MATCH REQUESTED FORMAT” roadblock. The suggested password includes letters, numbers, and symbols. Adding a number doesn’t help.

I tried “password” and it worked, but if I added a bracket it goes red, so try removing @ , I think its just number and letters, min of 8

using password generator

Thanks @stefan1959. I’ve followed your guidance and was successful. Hopefully VirtualMin will start auto-entering a valid password or at least provide a pop up hint about what “the requested format” is.

As Ilia mentioned, it has been fixed for the next release.

This doesn’t fix issue, removing Symols resolves the issue.

Alright, thanks we will fix that too.
