Would it be possible to add Nginx to the Webmin Panel to make the option easier? Like in Plesk, for example.
I have no idea what youāre asking for. What do you mean āadd nginx to the Webmin panelā. I donāt use Plesk, so ālike in Pleskā is not informative, either.
I understand the difficulty in understanding. The goal here is to make the installation automatic. The webmin - virtualmin - cloudmin universe needs to have clearer and easier communication so that there is a greater expansion of users. What is the possibility of having an installation of Nginx over Apache or vice versa, and allowing the user to choose between one or the other? Since I donāt know the details of each part of the development, I canāt point out where and how this could be done. I imagine that a batch file could check what exists and change whatever is necessary to migrate from one to the other, without the user having to do it step by step.
There is already an installation for nginx instead of apache if you look at the download page there is a button marked nginx click that and the correct script will appear in the text box above copy the script and run it on your server and nginx will be installed instead of apache
Excellent!!! So it will just be automating this process with one click.
Just a thought are you thinking of having both apache and nginx installed at the same time rather than just one webserver ? If the answer is yes, virtualmin does not support the abilities to toggle a domain from apache to nginx and tbf I donāt think running both apache and nginx on the same server unless you are using the video plugins of nginx (rtmp) which configure nginx to listen on non standard ports and just leave nginx to do that and use apache for web serving or in fact use nginx for both getting nginx to listen on all required ports. Both apache and nginx serve web content to acceptable level, in certain cases nginx is āfasterā than apache and vice versa in other cases. So perhaps just choose the web server your happy with and stick to it, as a footnote I have used apache from the begining of this century and would not change but the choice is yours
I really appreciate your feedback.
