we’ve just installed virtualmin/webmin :-
Operating system Debian Linux 4.0
Webmin version 1.390
Virtualmin version 3.50.gpl (GPL)
and i’ve migrated some websites to this server… they’re all working fine except for the email… when i do a TEST ACCOUNT SETTINGS in outlook it outputs this:
Establish network connnection => completed
find outgoing mail server (smtp)=> completed
find incoming mail server (pop3)=> completed
Log onto incoming mail server (pop3)=> FAILED
send test email=> completed
as you can see all works apart from the loging on!! i have used the correct username and password (i’ve reseted the password about 5 times to make sure) but it keeps asking for it… i’ve tried turning secure password authentication and SSL in advanced and checked that port 110 for POP is open, which it is…
I’m not sure what else to try!!
i’ve seen in webmin there’s “Dovecot IMAP/POP3 Server” with user and login options… does anyone know if i need to simply tick or untick something in here? (ATM it’s using PAM service (dovecot))… it’s beyond me!!
