I am complete newbie… I have installed virtualmin using webmin interface. This is on a dedicated server(fixed ip). Then logged out and in ( and followed installation instruction )…
Now it says,
The status of your system is being checked to ensure that all enabled features are available, that the mail server is properly configured, and that quotas are active …
BIND DNS server is installed, and the system is configured to use it. However, the default master DNS server Debian-50-lenny-64-LAMP is not a fully qualified domain name.
None of the supported mail servers (Sendmail, Postfix and Qmail) were detected on your system. Maybe they are not installed, or their Webmin modules have not been set up properly.
Is it at all possible to perform your Virtualmin install using the install.sh script? It handles installing and configuring the various components on your system for you.
It’s possible to get everything working by manually installing Virtualmin via the Webmin module, but that means that you’ll need to manually configure all the daemons and components on your system – which is “the hard way”
If you do the install using the install.sh, you should have a working system right out of the box!
Ideally, you’d only want to do that if there’s nothing live on your server. Also, it’s best to do it using a fresh install of your distro.
You can get the install.sh script using the Download link above.
I would rather not do that with my skill what I found now is actual culprit is BIND DNS is the problem point. I was trying to stop and disable this…but cant!!! It gives, “” Failed to save enabled features : None of the supported mail servers (Sendmail, Postfix and Qmail) were detected on your system. Maybe they are not installed, or their Webmin modules have not been set up properly. “”
