My website giving Took too long to respond error quite often

Operating system: Centos 7, latest webmin/virtualmin
Hi everybody, Ever since I have restored my virtual servers using back and restore option of virtualmin, whenever I try to open a website of mine, after 2 or 3 hard refreshes it gives Took too long to respond error. I do not know what is wrong with Bind because in webmin logs I have seen some error.

Webmin logs have nothing to do with your websites being slow.

Those errors are related to our conversion of Webmin to use strict and use warnings, and can safely be ignored. The filemin error looks like an actual bug, but unrelated to your problem.

You need to look in the relevant web server logs for website issues. Webmin does not serve your websites, Apache or nginx does.

Website is not slow, but it does not load and gives Took too long to respond error
I read somewhere it is related to DNS, so in system logs there was error related to Bind thats why I posted those. I just want to make sure its not DNS and resolve this. Here is the apache error log: P.S Thankyou so much for prompt response.

I do not think it has something to do with resources as plenty of resources are available as you can see in the image. You do not suspect it has got something to do with DNS configuration?

Are you using WordPress, Drupal, Joomla or any other resource intensive app?

While you’re right, your system appears to have plenty of resources, it could be as simple as PHP not having enough resources assigned to it, whether it be memory, execution time, or something else.

That’s odd. Your server seems top notch and not even breaking a sweat.

Question: are you hosting this off your own personal internet connection?

Edit to add: when I enter your IP in my browser, I get to your server and see the construction page:

After that, I swopped browsers and just entered the HTTPS address and your site loaded again with no problem.

So it’s not your DNS. That’s working. It took a few seconds for it to load for me, but nothing out of the ordinary. Tracing that IP says you’re in France on a broad band cable/dsl connection.

I’m wondering if you can try a different browser or clear all of your caches out and try again. If I’m getting to it, you should be able to get to it.

I am beginning to doubt this, I have a custom program, which might be using alot of php resources. As per your suggested solution I doubled the resources of PHP, and for the time being it seems to be working fine. But as this is not the peak user time, I will wait for tomorrow and let you know. Thankyou for taking time out for me, much appreciated.

No I am not hosting this, yeah it’s not like it is permanently doing this, after giving 2 3 hard refreshes to the website this error was appearing, sometimes on the first try as well. Thankyou for taking out time, much appreciated.
For the time being I have doubled the default PHP allocated resources as per suggested by @tpnsolutions . I hope this might be the reason!

@shan_ahmed I had no issues with dns now with default virtualmin under construction website. There was no delay at all by entering your server ip or domain name. I did refreshed couple of times like 10 times in chrome with ctrl+f5 which is hard refresh and results was same for me as for @tpnsolutions

Perhaps you have issue on your own lan or wan network. use opendns or google dnses to connect to outside world if isp giving you trouble, test it on those one and you will see.

I’d like to know where @shan_ahmed is based. France has a very, very picky internet policy. They may be seeing his connection as an attack and throttling it. They also throttle based on your ISP.

France can be very picky that way.

Thankyou Everybody for your time. And thanks to @tpnsolutions for pointing me in the right direction, it was a program which was causing trouble and as well as increasing the php limits helped in this too. Now the problem seems to be gone. Thankyou again everybody!
